On occasion PAR conducts routine maintenance on our infrastructure to help ensure that we provide you with the highest level of performance, security, and reliability. On Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 11 PM PT, PAR will be enhancing the infrastructure which hosts the installation and patch files, commonly known as install.brinkpos.net. While no interruption to services are expected, you will notice new IP addresses when resolving install.brinkpos.net.
If store firewall rules are configured in such a way that the DNS lookup for install.brinkpos.net change will block traffic, the store locations will lose the ability to download register installers, kitchen installers, and device patches via the BMS service. To evaluate how the new record will resolve, we have created a test temporary record http://install-cloudfront.brinkpos.net/ which points to the new CDN endpoint. You can use the following full installer URL to test end to end connectivity against your firewall rules: http://install-cloudfront.brinkpos.net/5.0.10214/Register.msi.
Starting with the 50L release of Brink, this URL will additionally change to https://install.brinkpos.net from the current http://install.brinkpos.net. The same test URL above can be used with HTTPS to validate HTTPS connectivity. Until the 50L release of Brink, all connections to install.brinkpos.net will remain over HTTP.
